Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take my insurance?
We are a cash-based practice, and do not bill insurance. I have felt restricted in the past by the red tape that comes with working in an insurance based practice. Without relying on insurance companies, I am able to give you the highest quality of care, based on YOUR needs.
Does this mean I'll be paying more for treatment?
Not necessarily. This depends on the coverage of your insurance, and the needs of your plan of care. Many co-pays are pricey, and end up costing a person an upwards of $140 per week out of pocket. During this care, it is likely that a patient is seen for 30 mins, and dove-tailed with other patients (less quality of care). With our high quality care at Pivot Physio, you'll receive weekly one-on-one 60 minute visits, with the same PT every time, without distractions, with a tailored home exercise program, and accountability throughout the week.
Can my insurance be billed for services at Pivot Physio?
If your insurance plan covers out-of-network services, I am able to provide you with a superbill that you may submit, for full or partial reimbursement.
How do we do physical therapy virtually?
Because of the nature of my clientele (people with chronic pain), virtual visits work quite well. Much of this treatment is education, which of course can be done without physical contact. You will be educated on how to perform self mobilization techniques, home exercises, movement strategies, etc., all of which can be done over video.
What will I need for my visits?
You will need a well-charged smartphone, laptop, or ipad (something that is portable that can be moved around with you as necessary). Make sure to test your internet, video, and sound quality before sessions, to make the best of your appointments.
Do I need a physicians referral?
No. But doesn't hurt to have one.
