Here at Pivot Pain Coaching, you've got options. Group coaching, as well as one-on-one coaching, is offered virtually to clients located throughout the United States.
Coaching does not take the place of physical therapy, but it does grant people more affordable and self paced options to be able to take power over their pain.
There are three different factors that come into play when we’re talking about pain. Pain is the interconnection between biology, psychology, and socio-environmental factors. This triad is called the biopsychosocial model.
It’s relatively new thinking that all three of these aspects play a role in topics such as health and disease models, and human development. This is often something that is left out of a person's plan of care. It's often thought of as a sticky topic, and many practitioners feel more comfortable steering clear.
At Pivot Physio and Pain Coaching, identifying factors from all three categories is one of our highest priorities. Because it's not about me... it's about YOU!
Biological factors that MAY affect pain include physical illness, disability, gender, genetic vulnerability, immune function, neurochemistry, stress reactivity, and medication effects.
Psychological factors that MAY affect pain include learning/memory, attitudes/beliefs, personality, behaviors, emotions, coping skills, and past trauma.
Social factors that MAY affect pain include social supports, family background, cultural traditions, socioeconomic status, and education.
